The “Strong in God” Asian Regional Conference will take place at the TK Palace Hotel, Bangkok , Thailand on 30 April – 1 May 2011.
This is a CFC-FFL event that will enjoin its participants to celebrate and proclaim God's love and power. It aims for the community to understand the meaning of it’s theme for 2011 in the different but parallel elements of our lives – as persons, couples, families, and as members of the community.
There is a need to nourish the community with a deeper understanding of Scripture, as well as get across a clear vision of where God is calling us in the same parallel elements (individual, couple, family and community life). Likewise, as the community has reached a certain level of maturity, God is calling his people at CFC-FFL to greater leadership and participation in his work to be a counterculture amidst the culture of death that is eating up the world and swallowing up nominal Christians.
The weekend congress will begin by presenting the beautiful Book of Isaiah, one of the greatest prophets of all time. It will reveal the identity of the Servant of God mentioned in Isaiah 49,1-7 and see ourselves as also called to be servants of God. It will then continue with how as servants we are strengthened by God to raise, restore and reach out as CFC-FFL, emphasizing the missionary and evangelistic spirit of this holy remnant of God.
As CFC-FFL celebrates 30 years as Couples for Christ in June 2011, this Strong in God Weekend will reiterate the call to focus on the Pearl of Great Price, the crown jewel of heaven, who is Jesus Christ, the Word. It is from Him that we draw our strength.
CFC-FFL also anticipates 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines ten years from now (March 2021) by desiring to actively carry out its evangelistic and missionary spirit, specifically in the realms of family and life. Brother Frank Padilla prophesies that “the decade from 2011-2021 will witness intense spiritual warfare in the Philippines .” It shall be an opportunity for abundant grace not only for the Philippines , but all Filipinos worldwide, as well as the rest of the world. But we must hold fast, remain faithful and draw our strength from God.
